DAYS OF THE WEEK: Wednesday’s and Thursday’s

Using a variety of different mediums and techniques, students will explore concepts inspired by great artists and their works, delving into colour, line, texture, and other elements of art. Through paintings, collage, clay sculpture, and other multimedia projects, students will draw parallels across space and time and experience personalized problem-solving.

This a STEAM-based program.

Dive into the wonders of the natural world with hands-on projects with our incredible instructor, Nooshin Mohtashami (see bio below).

Students will build on inspiration from beloved authors and illustrators. This is an opportunity to unleash creativity using paint, clay, and printmaking techniques while learning about animals, plants, and insects.

Students will develop fine motor skills while crafting unique sculptures, Picasso-inspired portraits, and mixed-media collages inspired by renowned artists.

Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills our instructor will work on include:

◾️ Make better decisions by exploring various options and using logic and creativity.

◾️ Adapt flexibly to new situations by thinking creatively and adjusting their approach.

◾️ Enhance communication skills by expressing ideas clearly and working effectively with others.

◾️ Build confidence in overcoming challenges and achieving goals through creative problem-solving.

Students will refine their motor skills, communication, and collaboration skills. We will work closely with them to enable later problem-solving and decision-making throughout the creation and design process.

Students’ executive functioning and ability to empathize are also enhanced through each art class.
